Transition Network Conference and Youth Symposium
Hi All,
I am involved (all be it at a distance) with the forming of a programme for young people (20+) called One Year in Transition (1YT). It will be launched at the network conference in September.
For more info about this, and if you would like to alert other people to it, here is what Isabel Carlisle (TN education coordinator) writes:
The Theme of this year’s Transition conference is “Building Resilience in Extraordinary Times”. It will be held at the Battersea Arts Centre (south London) from 14 to 16 September 2012.
On Friday 14 September, immediately pre-conference, we are holding a youth event entitled ”Which Future do We Want?” https://www.transitionnetwork.org/conference-2012-uk
The day will be a collaborative exploration into how young adults can find or create meaningful livelihoods in a rapidly changing world. We will inspire each other with open space sessions, world cafe conversations, mini workshops and time for just meeting and talking. Mark Boyle (author of The Moneyless Man), Rob Hopkins (co-founder of Transition) will be present… and others still to come, in an exploration of the whole economic spectrum from Gift Culture, through social enterprise to big business (more anon). If you are at school/college/university-leaving age or beyond that and just wondering what to do next come and join us.
At the same time we will be launching our new one-year learning journey for over-20s called “One Year in Transition” http://www.transitionnetwork.org/news/2012-07-04/one-year-transition-1yt
Transition Network is a charity based in the UK, catalysing, supporting and connecting the international Transition movement of community-led responses to peak oil, inequality and climate change
