Clitheroe Library event. Get Growing ! May 12th – would you like to help?

Clitheroe librarians are brilliant. They  are eager  to use our fantastic library facilities to host more community  engagement events-  and as this provides  excellent resilience building  opportunities TTC are happy to be  involved.

We will have a visioning tree, and be sowing  seeds in paper pots that we  show people how to make, as well as chatting to people.

Everyone is busy , and no-one has a full day to spare, but if a few people can spare a couple of hours this will work well.

We also need some yoghurt pots- it makes it easier for people to  carry their paper pots  away, so if you could collect some and bring them along that would also be helpful.

Anyone who can give an hour or two on Saturday 12th May , please could you let me know via email, indicating preferred and available hours and also leave a telephone contact , so that I can draw up a rota.

many thanks

Put pressure on the EU for 30 degree reduction in CO2 emissions

You may already be aware of the 38 degrees/wwf campaigns, but in case you aren’t here are a couple of sites where you can  make your views known to the  EU via our own Prime Minister.

We need to put  pressure on David Cameron to secure the EU target for a crucial 30 degree reduction in emissions  from 1990 levels  by 2020 . If you would like to write to Mr Cameron to let him know why this is important to you visit:-

(Sorry-it’s been a long day and I can’t remember how I created the hyperlink on this system….. you will just have to  copy the url- apologies)

ps  This campaign  can also be reached via the WWF website

Thanks

New Secretary for TTC

Just to introduce myself – I’m Katy Holden and I’ve volunteered to act as secretary for Transition Town Clitheroe, as Charlie is stepping down to go off on his travels!  I’ve been joining in with the Transition Town group for over a year now and fully support all the activities they are involved in.  I’m also active member of the Clitheroe Fairtrade Group and feel that the two have a lot of things in common – basically that we all want the world to be a better place to live in.

I’m in the process of getting up to speed with the new website,  but hopefully I will be a help to the core group and take on some of the work load of communicating information etc.  I may not be able to attend all the events planned for the future, but will be in the background keeping my eye on what is going on.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Katy. x
